On 90 Day Fiance, Brandon Gibbs chooses his mom over Julia Trubkina after a surprise visit goes too far and is pegged a mama’s boy. Darcey Silva suffers a meltdown and a wardrobe malfunction upon meeting Georgi Rusev‘s parents. Kara Bass and Guillermo Rojer seek counsel from their respective mothers. And Adnan Abdelfattah tones down the demon rhetoric as baby Zeyn’s birth draws near. Let’s take a closer look in this recap of Season 9, Episode 8 May the force Be With You.
90 Day Fiance: Brandon Gibbs Takes Sides with Mom Betty
After a hectic trip to Washington, D. C., Brandon Gibbs returns home to a surprise visit from his parents complete with barbecue and stars and stripes decor on 90 Day Fiance. It’s quite the welcome for Julia Trubkina’s parents who arrived from Russia divorced and slightly demanding. But even they are willing to nosh on ribs and raise a glass of red wine to Betty’s self-serving shenanigans. However Julia isn’t feeling the lack of boundaries.
Brandon Gibbs accuses Julia of being rude to his family. She rightly accuses them of not respecting her enough to ask them first before they show up. Ron Gibbs suggest Julia is being kill-joy. And that it’s ok to have a little spontaneous fun now and then. But Julia claps back that they are tired and would like some one on one time since her parents just arrived. Brandon Gibbs suggests his folks are right.
On 90 Day Fiance, Betty Gibbs suggests maybe Julia should go back to Russia. And Brandon Gibbs doesn’t defend her. While Betty chugs up the rest of her wine, Julia’s parents stare on confused. And Brandon Gibbs makes the decision to head to the Holiday Inn with his parents. Rather than stay and support Julia. This obviously doesn’t go over well with Julia who warns Brandon Gibbs if he’s going to side with them not to come back.
90 Day Fiance: Darcey Suffers a Wardrobe Malfunction
The time has come for Darcey Silva to meet Georgi Rusev‘s parents in Bulgaria. The Happily Ever After couple have been in the country honeymooning, arguing and meeting other family. But Georgi Rusev stresses over Darcey meeting his mom and dad. Repeated requests for her to tone down her cleavage have been ignored. Darcey preens in various outfits. While she covers the twins, her legs are exposed in her outfit of choice as she claims it’s “demure”.
Georgi is visibly annoyed on 90 Day Fiance when she dances awkwardly in front of the mirror and sings about being a cereal called “snatched, crackle and pop”. Georgi sarcastically suggests it’s what his parents always told him. To find a girl who’s snatched. In the car she sprays her hair with hairspray while seeking his assurance. He can’t breathe, but he goes along with it. Of course the first hug with his mom is emotional. And Darcey blubbers in the background.
She doesn’t remain demure for long, cracking jokes about the bread at dinner being squishy like her boobs. She proceeds to pop a button on the long coat she’s wearing to cover the fact her legs are bare. Leading Georgi’s mom to suggest she didn’t dress for the season. And pull out a sewing kit for a quick repair. Later she sobs over dinner when Georgi’s mom reveals Darcey spilled some of their marital problems. Georgi is annoyed by her tears and Darcey apologizes for making a scene.
Happily Ever After: Kara Bass and Guillermo Rojer Seek Mom’s Advice
90 Day Fiance couple Kara Bass and Guillermo Rojer are living separate lives to say the least. While Kara is off to Milan to record her debut album, Guillermo remains in his own place in Virginia. Kara explains her side to her mom on the way to the airport. Her mom suggests she try to work things out if she pleases. But to definitely lawyer up in the meantime. She bids Kara goodbye and advises her to live her dream.
Guillermo also seeks advice from his mom over video chat. His mom is far more emotional. And worries more about his emotional state than any legal matters. They both cry when remembering better days between the couple. She suggests Kara loves him and that he fight for the marriage. When he’s not sure how to go about it, she suggests he surprise Kara with a date night. So, some good but very different advice for both.
TLC Couple Tigerlily and Adnan Get Ready to Welcome Son
It’s the night before a planned c-section for Tigerlily Taylor, and Adnan Abdelfattah is picking fights on 90 Day Fiance. She retreats to the bedroom and explains her frustration to production. It seems Adnan didn’t push for her to covert to Muslim until now. He enters the room and she demands answers. But he basically spouts that he’s the man he can do whatever he wants blah blah blah and suggests he tells her what she wants to hear because all women are the same in arguments.
She stands her ground to a point but decides to let it go and prioritize her surgery and birth. He remains convinced a demon is floating around Tigerlily, swaying her against religion. In the morning they dress up to head to the hospital and he attempts a drive-by conversion by asking her to repeat various religious verses. Tigerlily does so quietly after questioning whether repeating them would automatically make her Muslim.
90 Day Fiance: Matt Admits Feelings for Jasmine
In an awkward workout, Matt Branistareanu decides to declare his love for Jasmine Pineda in spite of the birthday party brawl. He suggests that he didn’t plan on catching feelings. He creepily calls her “mama” and suggests that not only is she his best friend, but that he actually “gasp” loves her. In spite of her hanging onto a geriatric Gino Palazzolo who will be in depends in five years. Jasmine is obviously flattered. But suggests it’s just too late for her to start over with him.
On the other side of Canton, Gino Palazzolo rolls up to a hotel where Natalie is upstairs packing to go home. He snags some complimentary h0tel coffee and heads up. Natalie keeps it brief. She’s leaving and doesn’t wish to be involved in this insipid love quadrangle. Gino snorts and makes fun of Matt’s appearance suggesting he is no Rico Suave. Which only cements Natalie’s decision that he’s not over Jasmine and she’s getting the heck out of this mess and Michigan.
90 Day Fiance: Andrei Castravet Returns from Moldova
Elizabeth Potthast Castravet is back in Tampa with her kids and dogs on 90 Day Fiance. Andrei Castravet bursts in with flowers and at least the kids and pets are happy to see him. Libby’s lack of acting chops make the scene even more cringe. As she purses her lips and turns her nose up at the bouquet while asking if he “got their money back”. Andrei babbles about starting a legal process that may require another investment so in short the answer is no.
Libby and Andrei argue in front of the kids. Andrei insists the money will be resolved and they will move to Moldova. Libby suggests she and the kids will not be moving to Moldova. And that in the future she will be privy to any business and financial transactions he partakes in. Andrei tries to save face but agrees to transparency for now anyway. Till next time!
