Carrying empty plastic pots, a group of residents from TVS Nagar and Meenashi Nagar under Ward 39 submitted petition to Mayor G. Ramakrishnan during weekly grievances redress meeting held at Corporation on Tuesday urging the urban civic body to ensure decent supply of drinking water to their area at least thrice a week.

The petitioners, led by TVS Nagar Welfare Association president T. Jayagopal, said the residents of TVS Nagar and Meenakshi Nagar under Palayamkottai Zone were getting drinking water for once in eight days or only thrice a month. Sometimes the water is supplied once in two weeks. To make things worse, the quantity of water being supplied to the residents of TVS Nagar and Meenakshi Nagar is not sufficient even for drinking purpose.
