Three of a family, including a two-and-half-year-old girl child, were killed in a fire that broke out at a house near Guduvanchery in the early hours of Tuesday.
A senior official of the Tambaram Police Commissionerate said the victims, Parthiban, 33, a construction worker, his wife Jayachitra, and child Jayashri were residents of Guduvanchery. On Monday, Parthiban’s family was visiting his elder sister, who lived in the nearby village of Kannivakkam and stayed the night at her house. When they were asleep, a fire broke out in their bedroom, resulting in their deaths.
