Wallajah Big Mosque reopens after renovation

After months of renovation by the Prince of Arcot Endowments, the historic Wallajah Big Mosque located in Triplicane, was reopened on Tuesday.

This mosque was originally built in 1795 by the Nawab of the Carnatic, Muhammad Ali Wallajah, ancestor of the Prince of Arcot. The mosque was built without the use of wood or steel.
