The teaser of Tamil star Suriya’s much-awaited film with director Venky Atluri, titled Vishwanath and Sons, was unveiled by the makers on Monday (March 16).
The promo introduces Suriya as Sanjay Vishwanath, a pistol shooting champion in his 40s who is itching to make a comeback. Meanwhile, a young woman in her 20s, named Maddy (played by Mamitha Baiju), enters Sanjay’s life, and the latter becomes a mentor figure to her. However, things change when Maddy falls in love with Sanjay, to his dismay. “At the snap of your fingers, many boys in your age group will come running after you,” he says, to which the young woman says, “I can snap many more times; why don’t you fall for me? That’s what I want.” Towards the end, Sanjay can also be seen with a toddler. The teaser promises a heartwarming film that discusses the societal discomfort with wide age gaps in relationships

Billed as “a story of dreams, emotions, and unexpected love unfolds,” Vishwanath and Sons also stars Radhika Sarathkumar and Raveena Tandon in pivotal roles.
With music scored by GV Prakash Kumar, the film has cinematography by Nimish Ravi. Navin Nooli is the editor. Produced by Sithara Entertainments and Fortune Four Cinemas, the film is set to release in July 2026.
Suriya, last seen in Retro, is currently working on a film with Aavesham director Jithu Madhavan. The movie also stars Naslen and Nazriya Nazim. Meanwhile, director Venky Atluri’s last film was Lucky Baskhar, the 2024 black comedy crime drama starring Dulquer Salmaan.
