Cyber Crime Police book case against Madurai Adheenam


The Cyber Crime Police of the Greater Chennai Police have booked a case against the Madurai Adheenam for allegedly spreading false information in connection with a road accident that occurred on May 2.

In May, he made a critical remark against the persons who were travelling in the car which allegedly hit his vehicle near Ulundurpet in Kallakurichi district. The district police ruled out any foul play in the accident. The police warned of strict action against those who spread false information and rumours on social media regarding the accident.

Based on a complaint, the Cyber Crime Police registered a case against the Madurai Adheenam under four provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita for wantonly giving provocation with intent to cause riot and promote enmity and hatred between groups.
