Days of our Lives: This Week’s Spoilers and Shocking Developments
As we always do on Early Edition Day, we start with what’s coming the rest of this week and then dive into what’s ahead next week. On Wednesday, August 13th, we got EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel) stunning Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall) with a subpoena.
She knew EJ wanted to bring up in court that he referred to the shooter as “her” during their recent hypnosis session, but Marlena might not have been expecting to go on the stand personally—and not so soon. I wonder if it will change D.A. James Giddens’ (Terrell Tilford) mind about charging Johnny.
DOOL Mystery Shooter: Is Ava, Kristen, Gabi, or Rachel Black to Blame?
With it being a woman as the shooter, is the shooter Ava Vitali (Tamara Braun), Kristen DiMera (Stacy Haiduk), Gabi Hernandez (currently Cherie Jimenez), or Chanel Dupree (Raven Bowens)? According to our leaker, it’s Rachel Black (Alice Halsey).
Belle Black (Martha Madison) advises Tate Black (Leo Howard) and Holly Jonas (Ashley Puzemis), so we’ll see if Tate’s aunt has legal advice about the baby adoption and how to find out more. Plus, Belle may have a thing or two to say about young love that includes a rival. She has been there herself with Shawn-Douglas Brady (Brandon Beemer).
Sophia Choi, Tate Black, and Holly Jonas: Complicated Relationships Unfold
Sophia Choi sees Tate kissing Holly and tells Arianna “Ari” Horton (Marissa Reyes) that nothing turned out the way that Sophia expected. Ari tells Sophia to just move on, but Sophia and Tate will always be connected because of the baby. I do wonder if Sophia will finally tell Tate the truth.
Sophia was kind of freaking out when Amy Choi (Shi Ne Nielson) saw the similarity between Tesoro and her little brother. So that’s a whoopsy. We do know that soon Sophia is targeting Holly and doing something really sketchy to her.
Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn) gets some attention and TLC from Cat Greene (AnnaLynne McCord). It looks like Chad may have caught strep throat from her—maybe when Cat shoved her tongue down his throat while she was all infected and feverish. I wonder if Chad will have a fever dream and kiss Cat. We’ll see.
DOOL Drama: Rachel Black’s Meltdown and Kristen DiMera’s Schemes
Days of Our Lives spoilers for Thursday, August 14th, Rachel has a meltdown. Kristen and her daughter also run into Sarah Horton (Linsey Godfrey) outside the pub this week. She may talk to Rachel there or at the hospital. We’ll learn more about the stress and what’s going on at the trial. I do wonder if Rachel may tell Doctor Sarah that she shot her uncle EJ.
Then again, I actually think Rachel may have blocked the memory. Marlena has a new theory that she runs by Belle. Belle is wondering if her mom knows who shot EJ, given that he said it’s a “her.” I do wonder if Marlena thinks EJ DiMera was faking in the hypno session just to try another Hail Mary to get Johnny off the stand. Or maybe Marlena has a legit guess about what lady might have put a bullet in EJ.
Courtroom Chaos: Chanel Dupree, EJ DiMera & Xander Cook Revelations
Chanel’s ready to go to court. She could throw herself under the bus to protect Johnny. Even though we absolutely don’t think she shot EJ. But if the info about the shooter being a “her” sways the DA, Chanel may be in trouble. Plus, you know EJ is going to bring up that video. Xander Cook Kiriakis (Paul Telfer) is defensive with Sarah.
We’ve got Gwen Rizczech (Emily O’Brien) telling Sarah that Xander is moving on with her. So Sarah may chew him out—you know, first Gabi, now Gwen. Is Xander Cook getting around Salem? No. Gwen listens to EJ DiMera pouring his heart out. I do wonder if those two will become enemy in-laws with benefits.
Tate Black’s Heartache and Sophia’s Secrets on Days of our Lives
On Friday, August 15th, we’ve got Tate comforted by Sophia. But I also wonder if Tate will let her soothe him first because he’s with Holly, and second because Sophia’s the one who caused this heartache by not telling him the truth about their son’s birth and hustling off to Chicago.
As far as he knows, Sophia gave their baby daughter away there when their son is right under his nose. Tate has actually held their son, Tesoro. This is going to be so messy when it comes out. At that point, Tate is never going to see Sophia the same way again and will never forgive her.
We’re also going to meet Leo Stark’s (Greg Rikaart) jury sequester roommate. They’re using an extra, just a random guy that they used last in 2009 for one episode, so it’s nobody important that we know of.
Leo Stark & Belle Black: New Twists and Trial Turmoil
Leo Stark, of course, is hoping this trial is over soon so he can get back home to Jay and little Tesoro and of course his cell phone, lattes, and all his creature comforts. You guys know how Leo is. Belle and Paulina Price (Jackee Harry) have a talk. Of course, her mama Mayor is worried about Chanel having to testify at Johnny’s trial.
It’s not just that Chanel is having to say things about Johnny, but there’s also that video, and they know it’s going to come up. It definitely looks bad if EJ gets his way. You know he’s going to play that video in court. If I was Johnny’s defense attorney, I sure would.
Johnny asks EJ to go easy on Chanel on Friday. But then he winds up firing EJ as his lawyer, so I’m guessing he didn’t go easy on her. Johnny watched EJ burn down his relationship with Belle trying to save him from his criminal trial, which is one of those bad things done with good intentions. I’m guessing Johnny doesn’t want EJ to burn down his and Chanel’s marriage the same way, which is a valid concern.
DOOL Spoilers: Tate Black, Te Soto, and Salem’s Hidden Truths
The week of August 18th through the 22nd, we’re going to see Tate just in turmoil. He cannot stop thinking about the newborn baby that he missed. We’ll see if he’s drawn to Te Soto again when he sees Jay, Gabi, or Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering) on an outing with the little boy. Tate is probably going to keep pushing Sophia about the adoptive couple and the birth with questions.
Remember, he wanted their address to send a letter. Melinda Trask (Tina Huang) said she would reply to the letter, saying no, you can’t visit the baby. Of course, at some point, Sophia and Melinda are both going to be outed for all their lies. EJ may tell Susan about the “her with a gun” that he remembered. It’s almost time for the truth to be revealed.
Rachel Black, Kristen DiMera, and the Gun: Salem’s Secrets Exposed
We reported back in February that our leaker, who is very reliable, said that it is Rachel. We will know soon Rachel was at the mansion that night. The gun was hidden in a very childish way. Rachel had serious reasons to dislike EJ because her grandma, Rachel Blake (Roslyn Gentle), had disappeared at his hands.
Kristen and Brady Black (Eric Martsolf), of course, are going to do anything and everything they can to protect Rachel. That’s why Kristen is going to be headed to Statesville soon to cover for her kid. We’ve seen behind-the-scenes pictures of Kristen in Statesville blue denim.
Leo Stark may learn something new from his roommate during sequestration. We’ll see if they come up with a theory together about who shot EJ. It’s killing Leo that he can’t report on any of this.
Fan Favorites Return and New DOOL Romances Emerge
Javi has that letter from Tesoro’s mom. I wonder if he’s going to be carrying it around with him, and if somebody else is going to see it—like Tate or Amy Choi or somebody else who may recognize Sophia’s handwriting. Amy can’t get over how much Tesoro looks like Sophia’s brother.
Sarah may slip up and give Brady a little clue about Tate’s son being in town and all the shenanigans. Obviously Sarah wants to tell him, but it’s against her doctor-patient confidentiality to do so.
Gabi should be making her move on Philip Kiriakis (John-Paul Lavoisier) soon as part of her plan with Tony DiMera (Thaao Penghlis) to crush the Kiriakis brothers and get the DiMera family away from them. But rather than Philip falling for Gabi’s con, she is going to fall for Philip soon, if our leaker is correct.
Xander is finally dealing with his anger issues. This is one step forward on the long road back to reuniting with Sarah, but I imagine it’s going to be a very long journey. There’s some chatter that another Salemite might be pregnant.
