Naam Tamilar Katchi (NTK) coordinator Seeman on Wednesday described caste-based discrimination as a “disease of the mind” created by humans that must be eradicated. He said this at the Coimbatore airport in response to a query on the recent video from Tindivanam showing a municipal staff member belonging to the Scheduled Caste community falling at the feet of a DMK councillor.

He said that even if a person attains the highest level of achievement or position, caste-based discrimination continues to persist, and added that society itself must remove it. “Even President Droupadi Murmu is still facing it, in her own party,” he alleged.
On Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s Voter Adhikar Yatra, Mr. Seeman alleged that both the Congress and BJP relied on electronic voting machines (EVMs), which, he said, could be tampered with. He questioned why Rahul Gandhi was not advocating for a return to ballot voting.
Commenting on the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), Mr. Seeman said its stance—DMK as a political enemy and BJP as an ideological adversary—reflected selective opposition. He added that opposing DMK politically implied acceptance of its ideology, while opposing BJP ideologically implied acceptance of its politics, and the silence on Congress and AIADMK was seen as tacit approval.
On the Centre’s proposal to disqualify arrested Prime Ministers and Chief Ministers through a new Bill, he dismissed the move as a diversionary tactic and warned that, if enacted, it would eventually affect those now in power.
