Train services on KK line restored; passenger train no. 58502 cancelled on Oct. 20


Train services on the Kottavalasa-Kirandul line, which have been hit due to boulder fall, between Tyada and Chimidipalli section, of Waltair Division, in the early hours of Sunday, were restored by around 1.30 p.m.

The boulder fall had led to derailment of two axles of the locomotive of goods train. The railway authorities immediately rushed to site and commenced track restoration works on a war footing. “The loco was re-railed and train services were restored in a record time by 1.30 p.m. on Sunday,” Divisional Railway Manager Lalit Bohra told The Hindu on Sunday evening.

However, the Visakhapatnam- Kirandul passenger 58501/58502 remains cancelled from both sides on Sunday. Train no. 58502 Kirandul – Visakhapatnam will also remain cancelled on October 20 for want of rake.
