Stating that the State government has not banned RSS, Chief Minister Siddaramiah said on Monday (October 20) that the RSS was not named in the order issued on Saturday, October 18, regulating the activities of private organisations on the government properties.
The government issued the order regulating the activities of private organisations/societies/trusts/clubs or any other entity registered/unregistered using the State government properties and premises, playgrounds, parks, roads and water bodies or any other immovable property.
Speaking to press persons in Puttur the Chief Minister said that the order only mentions any organization or institution. “We have reiterated what the BJP government had ordered earlier in 2013,” he said.
When Jagadish Shettar of the BJP was the Chief Minister, the State government had banned organizations from organizing activities in school and college premises, Mr. Siddaramaiah said.
The Chief Minister said that permitting the activities of private organisations on the government’s properties is not mandatory. It depends on maintaining law and order.
