The CITU staged a demonstration near Raja Theatre on Sunday to protest against the non-payment of festival allowance to unorganised workers.
G. Seenuvasan, CITU general secretary, condemned the negligence of the government in releasing ₹ 2,000 declared by the Unorganised Labourers Welfare Society as festival allowance to the unorganised workers for Deepavali.
