Holiday declared for schools in 3 districts due to heavy rain forecast

Schools in Chennai and both schools and colleges in Tiruvallur and Chengalpattu districts will be closed on Wednesday in view of the heavy rain forecast, said announcements from the respective District Collectors on Tuesday.

In a press announcement by Chennai Collector Rashmi Siddharth Zagade all schools in the city would remain closed as part of monsoon safety measures. Chengalpattu district T. Sneha also announced a day’s holiday for schools and colleges in the district on Wednesday. Tiruvallur Collector M. Prathap announced a holiday on Wednesday for schools and colleges in the district.
