A section of women’s wing members of the Bharatiya Janata Party staged demonstrations in Tiruchi, Perambalur, and Pudukottai on Thursday condemning the gang-rape of a college student in Coimbatore recently.
The protesters condemned the DMK government and alleged that it had made Tamil Nadu insecure for women.
Carrying party flags and placards, the BJP women protested near the District Collectorate in Tiruchi and Perambalur. In Pudukottai town, they protested near the PLA roundabout. The demonstrations were in response to a State-wide call by the party leadership, the police sources said.
