Ensure BJP wins all 12 MCD wards: B.L. Santosh

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national organisation general secretary B.L. Santosh on Sunday held the party’s Delhi unit meeting for the November 30 Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) bypolls and asked the leaders and workers to ensure victory in all 12 wards.

Mr. Santosh said the efforts to disseminate the benefits of the triple-engine government to every constituency will be accelerated.

“Although people often show little interest in byelections, we must ensure they turn out in large numbers,” he said.

The byelections were necessitated following the election of councillors to higher office.

The meeting was attended by Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, and BJP Delhi Lok Sabha MPs.

Later in the day, a public meeting was held in support of BJP candidate Rohini Raj from the Dakshinpuri ward.

Ms. Gupta addressed a public meeting in the Dhichkaun Kalan ward in Najafgarh and urged party workers to work to ensure a landslide victory for BJP candidate Rekha Rani.

She also campaigned in the Shalimar Bagh-B ward in support of BJP candidate Anita Jain.

Ms. Gupta said that the BJP government in Delhi has given the Capital a new direction in development in just eight to nine months.

“The Delhi government has also reduced pollution compared to previous years. It is working to bring hospitals, schools, and colleges to rural Delhi, as well as to streamline bus services,” she said.

Union Minister of State Harsh Malhotra, MLA Poonam Sharma, and treasurer Satish Garg addressed an election meeting in Ashok Vihar. Mr. Malhotra said that the public will choose the BJP’s triple engine for development in the wards.
