Kerala local body polls: Election to panchayat ward in Ernakulam to be deferred after UDF candidate dies

The election to ward 10 in Pampakuda panchayat in Ernakulam district of Kerala is set to be deferred by the Election Commission after the United Democratic Front (UDF) candidate, C. S. Babu, died.

However, the election to the district and block panchayat divisions will be held.

A candidate in the grama panchayat has to cast three votes — in the panchayat ward, and in the district and block panchayat divisions.
