A large crowd has gathered for the meeting of actor Vijay’s Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), which is being held under tight crowd control measures at the Uppalam Ground in Puducherry on Tuesday (December 9, 2025).

TVK founder Vijay, who reached Puducherry on Monday (December 8) night, arrived at the venue in his campaign vehicle at around 10.30 a.m.

With the police having restricted the number of attendees to around 5,000, only TVK workers who were issued QR-code passes by the party were being allowed inside the venue after security frisking.

Scare at the venue

During the security screening, a pistol was recovered from a person at the entrance of the venue. The police identified the person possessing the pistol as David. As per the information provided by him to the police, he is an ex-serviceman and one of the personal guards of Sivagangai District Secretary of TVK, Prabhu.

The police have taken him to Odiansalai police station for questioning.
