On the occasion of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s centenary, his bronze statue was unveiled by BJP State president P.V.N. Madhav along with local ministers, MPs, MLAs and public representatives at Harnathapuram Circle in Nellore on Monday (December 15, 2025) as a part of Atal Sandesh Yatra (Atal-Modi Suparipaalana Bus Yatra).

Ministers Satya Kumar Yadav and Anam Ramanarayana Reddy, Lok Sabha Member Vemireddy Prabhakar Reddy, Rajya Sabha Member Beeda Masthan Rao, MLAs Vemireddy Prashanti Reddy and Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy and other leaders and officials were present at the programme.

Lauding the services of the former Prime Minister, Mr. Madhav said, “Atal Bihari Vajpayee was a selfless leader who had set the right direction for the country. He had initiated several steps towards good governance and development in the country. His reign in the history of India is worth writing in golden letters.”

MP Vemireddy said, “In his 50-year long political career, Vajpayee had served the country as an MP for 11 times and as the Prime Minister three times. He had established road connectivity to the mega cities of Delhi, Kolkata, Chennai and Mumbai through the prestigious Golden Quadrilateral project. He is known for his unwavering commitment to the country.

He further said, “It is good that his birth anniversary has been declared as Good Governance Day. Similar to the earlier combination of Vajpayee and Nara Chandrababu Naidu as the PM and CM, Andhra Pradesh is moving forward on the path of development today, under the leadership of Narendra Modi and Naidu.”
