Varied themes, styles mark group expo at Contemporary Art Gallery


A group show by artistes with varied use of visual language, creative techniques and contemporary perspectives is under way at the State-run Contemporary Art Gallery inside the French Quarter.

The expo, “Aurora”, featuring works by Satheesh Kumar Mani, Devaraj P, Ram C, Dhyanesh M.R., and Sriram Chinnadurai, was opened by Manokar N.S., former Principal, Government College of Fine Arts, Kumbakonam, and J. Gopal, former regional director of the Indira Gandhi National Centre for Arts.

A press note said the exhibits reflect the distinct visual language of each artiste, and the exploration of diverse themes such as identity, environment, emotional states and contemporary outlooks offers a blend of academic depth and individual creativity.

The event is on at the venue on St. Louis Street, till December 18 (10 am to 7 pm).
