In the ongoing drive against contract carriage buses, the Road Transport Authorities (RTA) booked eight more cases against private bus operators on Monday for violating rules including collection of excess fare and failure to produce the passengers list.
A total of ₹9,500 was collected as compounding fee (penalty) by RTA officials on Monday.
On Sunday, seven cases were booked for collecting excess fare from passengers, and ₹33,600 was collected as compounding fee.
