A 23-year-old man was injured after being attacked by two unidentified men, armed with a sickle, in Velachery on Sunday.
The victim has been identified as A. Parthiban, 23, of Lakshmi Nagar in Velachery, who works as a delivery executive. The police said that when Parthiban was walking down the A.L. Mudali First Street, the two men arrived on a two-wheeler, attacked him with a sickle and fled. He sustained injuries on the scalp, forehead, wrists, and the left abdomen.
Residents took him to Government Royapettah Hospital. On being alerted, the Velachery Inspector went to the spot and began an investigation.
The police said the attack was due to previous enmity. They arrested three persons and launched a search for two more suspects.
