Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Upendra Dwivedi on Sunday (January 25, 2026) met U.S. Secretary of the Army Daniel P. Driscoll in New Delhi to discuss ways to strengthen defence cooperation and enhance military-to-military engagement between India and the United States.

According to the Indian Army’s Additional Directorate General of Public Information, the discussions focused on deepening bilateral defence ties, expanding Army-to-Army cooperation, and reinforcing the shared commitment of both forces to global peace and security.

“Mr. Daniel P. Driscoll, U.S. Secretary of the Army, called on General Upendra Dwivedi, COAS. The discussions focused on strengthening bilateral defence cooperation, deepening military-to-military engagement, and reinforcing the shared commitment of both armies to global peace and security,” the Indian Army said in a post on X.

Earlier in the week, U.S. Ambassador to India Sergio Gor welcomed Mr. Driscoll on his arrival in the national capital.
