The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Tuesday accused the Bharatiya Janata Party of failing to curb crime in the national capital despite being in power at the Centre for over a decade.
Citing the latest National Crime Records Bureau data, the party alleged that criminals were “thriving under the BJP’s protection”. At a press conference at the party headquarters, AAP’s Kondli MLA Kuldeep Kumar said: “For the last 11 years, the BJP has ruled at the Centre. Delhi’s responsibility lies with the Union Home Minister. The BJP controls the Centre, the Lieutenant-Governor, the Municipal Corporation of Delhi, and the Delhi Development Authority. Delhiites gave them this so-called four-engine government, yet the city is topping in crime because criminals are thriving under the BJP’s shield.”
