He began by expressing a deep admiration for Sanjay Leela Bhansali, saying, “Sanjay Leela Bhansali, for starters. I think my style of performance fits his universe. Saiyaara was very internalised, but I love a sense of drama in my craft.” Given Bhansali’s penchant for grand storytelling and emotionally charged characters, Ahaan’s creative aspirations seem well aligned.
He then shared his desire to collaborate with Imtiaz Ali, praising the filmmaker’s ability to portray layered human emotions. “Imtiaz Ali, because his understanding of emotions is so deep,” he said. Ahaan’s list also included Rajkumar Hirani, whose films have defined a unique blend of warmth and social commentary. “Rajkumar Hirani, whose cinema is full of hope, purity and beauty, like Jojo Rabbit minus the sadness,” he added.
When it comes to actors he hopes to share the screen with, Ahaan didn’t hold back. “As for actors: Sanjay Dutt, and Nawazuddin Siddiqui – I actually assisted him early on, so that would be a full circle,” he revealed, recalling his early days in the industry. He also confessed a long-time admiration for a Bollywood icon: “And also, Zeenat Aman, I had the biggest crush on her growing up. To share the screen with her would be a dream.”
