The 46th Pontiff of Sri Ahobila Mutt Sri Srivansadagopa Sri Ranganatha Yatheendra Maha Desikan was accorded the traditional ‘poorna kumbha’ welcome on arrival in Madurai city on Friday.
The Pontiff arrived here from Srivilliputtur after completing his ‘sathurmasya sankalp’. He was received by the Reception Committee members led by G.S. Rajagopal, T. Jagannathan, Janarthanam, Hayagreevan and Varadarajan and other disciples.
The Pontiff would perform special pujas daily from 7 a.m. (Viswaroopam), 8 a.m. (Abigamana aradanam) and special pujas between 10.30 a.m. and 12 noon. at the Brahmana Kalyana Mandapam, Old Post Office Road, S.S. Colony here.
During his stay till September 16, the Pontiff would give blessings to the devotees and general public after performing pujas to the “Maalolan” . The Pontiff is expected to visit a few of the Vaishnavite shrines in the city, the Reception Committee members said. For more information, the public can contact 9443693331.
