Chairman of Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE) K. Madhu Murthy inaugurated the Amaravati Quantum Valley Hackathon 2025 (AQVH 2025), at VIT-Amaravati on Tuesday. The hackathon is a national programme organised to give students a platform to address pressing daily challenges and to promote a culture of product innovation and problem-solving.
A statement released by the council said that the event would focus on solving real-world challenges in critical sectors including Defense, Logistics, Drug Discovery, Agriculture and Finance, using quantum-first solutions. The event is supported by the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India and key industry partners like IBM, TCS and startups like QKRISHI.
The hackathon will provide students a chance to work on challenges from various ministries, departments, industries, public sector undertakings (PSUs), and NGOs. This collaboration aims to produce world-class solutions for leading organisations like DST, IBM, TCS, Google, and Microsoft, helping both public and private sectors to recruit top talent from across the country.
Mr. Murthy invited universities and colleges, faculty and students to participate and contribute efficient solutions to the problem statements given by different organisations. He said that the idea was to harness the creativity and expertise of students, inspire institute-level hackathons, create a pipeline for the ‘Innovate A.P.’ and ‘Startup India’ initiative, crowdsource solutions to improve governance and quality of life and give citizens an opportunity to provide innovative solutions to India’s significant problems, particularly in the emerging quantum field.
The semifinals of the event is scheduled on August 23, while the final hackathon will take place on August 3.
The registration started on August 5 and August 12 is the last day for submission of ideas by college teams on AQVH 2025 portal.
