Andhra Pradesh Home Minister Vangalapudi Anitha reviewed the preparedness for the ‘Montha’ cyclone with the officers of various departments on Sunday (October 26, 2025).

Ms. Anitha visited the A.P. State Disaster Management Authority (APSDMA) office, located at Tadepalli, and reviewed the situation with APSDMA Managing Director Prakhar Jain.
Speaking on the occasion, Ms. Anitha directed the Collectors and Nodal Officers to be alert and take all measures to prevent human loss.
“Heavy rains are expected on October 27, 28 and 29 in the State as cyclone Montha, may cross the coast in the next 48 hours. District Collectors are instructed to alert the villagers staying in the coastal areas,” the state Home Minister said.
The Nodal Officers should shift the villagers to safe places, and fishermen are requested not to venture into the sea.
NDRF teams deployed
National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) 10th Battalion Commandant V.V.N. Prasanna Kumar said that teams have been deployed to Nellore, Kakinada, Konaseema, Srikakulam and other districts.
“We are prepared to send more teams to the cyclone-affected districts with necessary life-saving gadgets,” Mr. Prasanna Kumar told The Hindu on Sunday (October 26, 2025).
Instructions have been given to the NDRF teams positioned in the affected districts to coordinate with the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), Disaster Management, Revenue and the District Collectors, Joint Collectors and other officers, Mr. Prasanna Kumar said.
