The Coimbatore unit of the Anti-Corruption Movement has issued a legal notice to the Coimbatore Corporation Commissioner, M. Sivaguru Prabhakaran, seeking recovery of encroached Open Space Reservation (OSR) lands and implementation of a Madras High Court order.
In the notice dated December 30, 2025, the organisation cited the High Court’s December 19, 2025 order and alleged failure to reclaim a 13-cent OSR site at Saravanampatti in Ward No. 4 of the North Zone.
The secretary of the Movement, N.K. Velu, said the notice sought eviction of encroachers within one month, recovery of damages for unauthorised occupation, registration of criminal cases against encroachers, and departmental and vigilance action against officials allegedly involved.
It warned of contempt proceedings and a Public Interest Litigation seeking a court-monitored probe into OSR encroachments across the Corporation if action was not taken within 30 days.
