For the second time in eight months, residents of some parts of Arumbakkam face sewage mixing with drinking water after ongoing stormwater drain (SWD) construction works damaged water supply and sewer pipelines.

Residents of Kannappa Nagar and Venkatakrishna Nagar said the problem had recurred over the past four days. They recalled a similar incident during July last year, when trenches dug for SWD network were filled with sewage, posing a health risk to residents.
