The Vyasarpadi police on Wednesday arrested a 35-year-old autorickshaw driver for allegedly harassing a woman traffic constable while she was on duty on Tuesday evening.
Rishika, 25, a Grade-II woman constable attached to the Vyasarpadi Traffic Police Station, was regulating traffic at the junction from 4 a.m. on Tuesday. Around 6 p.m., Muniyandi, 35, arrived at the spot allegedly in an inebriated condition and began arguing with the constable. Bystanders advised him to leave the area and return home, but he reportedly continued to quarrel with the constable.
