The Bangalore Gayana Samaja will hold its 55th annual music conference from November 16 to 23 at its premises on Sri Krishna Rajendra Road in Bengaluru.
Padma Gurudatt, senior Karnataka vocalist, will preside over the event, while violin maestro Dr. L. Subramanian and musician-playback singer H.R. Leelavathi will participate in the inaugural session as chief guests.
The theme for this year’s conference is ‘Guruguha Vaggeya Vaibhava’.
Daily seminars will be conducted from November 17 to 22 at 10 a.m. Junior concerts are scheduled from 4.15 p.m. to 5.30 p.m., followed by main concerts from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., featuring eminent artistes.
The valedictory session, Vidwath Sadas, will be held on November 23 at 10.30 a.m., where Padma Gurudatt will be conferred the title ‘Sangeetha Kalaratna’ by Yadugiri Yathiraja Narayana Ramanjuna Jeeyar for her contributions to Carnatic music.
