Beyond the Gates weekly predictions expect Anita Dupree (Tamara Tunie) being outraged and Jacob Hawthorne (Jibre Hordges) being crushed by something.

For Vernon Dupree (Clifton Davis), for Naomi Hamilton Hawthorne (Arielle Prepetit) and Jacob (Jibre Hordges), for Dana Leslie Thomas (Trisha Mann-Grant) and Anita, and also for Ashley Morgan (Jen Jacob) and Derek Baldwin (Ben Gavin). Let’s jump right in.
Beyond the Gates Weekly Predictions: Kat Gets a Warning
Our first prediction, Nicole warns Kat not to do what she’s doing. Friday spoilers for BTG have Eva Thomas (Ambyr Michelle) saying something that is divisive when Kat hears it. It’s not meant to be, I don’t think. But this has Kat very upset and she loses her temper at Dr. Ted Richardson (Maurice Johnson). Eva tells Kat that she is now calling Ted dad. I’m sure she overhears it. And Kat freaks out and tells Ted, “Enjoy the one daughter you have cuz you cannot have both of us.”
Nicole and Shanice Johnson (Ernestine Johnson) watch Kat explode and walk away from her dad while they’re all standing at the nurses’ station at the hospital. So last week, Ted asked Eva if she’d call him dad, and she was happy about that. And Ted told Eva he wants her to be part of the holidays. He thinks bringing her to Martin Richardson (Brandon Claybon) and Bradley Smitty Smith (Mike Manning) and to spend time with them and their kids is a good place to start pulling Eva into family celebrations because they are the least angry about her.
Beyond the Gates Predictions: Ted & Ava Getting Closer
Leslie was thrilled to hear Ted wanting her to call their daughter Dad, but it looks like when Kat hears Eva say dad, she is going to just snap. And Kat gives Ted an ultimatum. Her or me? But I mean, that’s Sophie’s choice, right? How do you choose between your daughters? It’s fair when Kat told Tomas Tom Navarro (Alex Alegria) it’s her or me. Absolutely fair, but not for Kat to do that with Ted’s other daughter.
So, Nicole overhears this. And I think she may caution Kat that she’s not being fair, that she doesn’t have to like Eva, but the bottom line is that is her sister. And if she doesn’t want to have a sisterly relationship, that’s one thing. But nothing good will come of this ultimatum with Ted because he’s not going to walk away from his other daughter and it’s not fair to ask it.
Vernon’s Sketchy Past: A Secret Meeting and a Paternity Mystery?
Our second prediction, Vernon may be keeping a secret from his past that is sketchy. So Monday Beyond the Gates spoilers have Vernon on a suspicious phone call and then creeping off to a secret meeting with someone and it is Sharon from the Articulettes. So, he is meeting Sharon on the sly next week. And this could be completely innocent and it could be Vernon and Sharon working on some sort of surprise for Anita. But to me, it looks a little dodgier than that.
And I still wonder if there’s a chance that Vernon might be Leslie’s father and just doesn’t know it. With Barbara Mitchell’s (Sherita Bolden) name coming up again for the Winterfest charity event, I still wonder if Vernon might have been closer to Barbara than we know. She took her own life and gave Peaches her daughter Leslie to raise. And the fact that we’ve never heard a thing about who got Barbara pregnant keeps me suspicious. So maybe we’ll find out more about Vernon’s past this week when he is meeting with Sharon sneakily.
Trouble in Paradise: Will Deceit End Jacob and Naomi’s Marriage?
Our third prediction, Naomi may take a break from her marriage to Jacob. So, Monday, Beyond the Gates spoilers have Naomi frustrated and lashing out at people close to her. Also on Monday, Derek is on the phone with Shanice standing up when Ashley walks into their apartment and freaks out. Tuesday spoilers have Jacob going to Nicole for some therapy type of help. He’s upset about this baby stuff.
Other Wednesday BTG spoilers have Ashley finding out something stunning and that’s about Derek’s progress. And the reason I’m mentioning the Ashley and Derek stuff is because of this. To give you context, Thursday spoilers say someone’s deceit causes issues for two couples. And I believe one of those two couples is Jacob and Naomi.
If you don’t remember, Chenise and Jacob both know Derek’s been getting better and are sitting on the secret. Jacob told Derek he didn’t like keeping this from Naomi, but Derek insisted. At the same time, Naomi is already frustrated because of this whole pregnancy scare thing because it exposed this incompatibility in her marriage that Jacob really wants kids and she doesn’t. And it sounds like he might have been hoping Naomi would change her mind. That’s such a fundamental thing that you got to have straight before you get married, right?
So, with Naomi already upset and lashing out when it comes out, Jacob was keeping this big secret from her about her best friend’s boyfriend and really about her best friend’s life. That’s a big deal. Ashley’s also going to be upset and she and Naomi may be very angry the guys were lying to their faces. and Naomi may see this as a point of no return and that she needs to just take a breather from her marriage to think things through.
Charity Event Showdown: Leslie Poised to Crash Anita’s Winterfest
Our fourth prediction, Leslie crashes Anita’s charity event Monday. Beyond the Gates spoilers have Anita feeling overwhelmed. She’s planning for the annual charity event and that may be getting to her along with the construction noise and just all the family tension. Wednesday spoilers have Nicole playing nice with Ted. So Nicole may specifically invite Ted to the charity event like he usually attends. Even though they’re not together and won’t be going together, he did offer his usual gift of a mommy makeover plastic surgery donation. I think so.
Last week when Anita was with Laura, Dani Dupree (Karla Mosley), and Nicole planning the Dupri Foundation Winterfest, the subject of Leslie came up and Anita wants to have a focus on mental health issues and give the funds raised this year to that cause. And they were talking about bringing up Barbara’s memory as part of the Winterfest. But Laura warned Anita that Leslie may try and get involved. She may make a scene because her mother’s name is being used. But Anita is not deterred and says she’s just not going to worry about what Leslie does.
And so there’s also a lunch with the Articullet. That’s a charity auction item. I do expect Leslie to crash the event, bid on the lunch so she can spend time with her mom’s ex-cohorts, but I wonder if Sharon and Tracy will be harsh on Leslie like the Duprees are, or if they’ll just be happy to be meeting Barbara’s daughter. We’ll see.
A Broken Engagement? Derek’s Shocking Lie Could Cost Him Everything
Our fifth and final prediction. Ashley ends her engagement to Derek. Monday spoilers again have Derek standing talking on the phone while Ashley walks in and she freaks out. Wednesday spoilers have Ashley finding out something stunning and that’s that Derek has been progressing this whole time. Shanice and Jacob knew and everybody was lying to her. And then again that Thursday spoilers about deceit causing issues for two couples and I think the second couple is Derek and Ashley.
Now, Ashley initially looked thrilled when she sees Derek up on his feet because if he just tried to stand up and did, that’d be one thing. But then Ashley finds out Derek has been systematically lying to her for quite a while. Ashley can’t really hold it against Chenise, but she probably will. But she couldn’t tell Ashley because of HIPAA privacy stuff, even though Ashley and Chenise are co-workers.
But Ashley’s going to be very upset that Derek lied and got Jacob to lie. And I’m sure, you know, maybe Derek tells her his big plan was to surprise her at the wedding, but I think this dishonesty may destroy their engagement, especially if he admits his true fear that he was going to lose her to Andre Richardson (Sean Freeman) and that Ashley’s only with Derek because he’s paralyzed and she wants to caretake him like a fixer-upper project. This is going to get messy.
