BIS holds meeting on draft standard for industrial safety helmets

The Bureau of Indian Standards organised a stakeholder consultation meeting on the draft Indian Standard for industrial safety helmets in the city on Tuesday. According to a press release, S. D. Dayanand, Senior Director and Head, BIS Chennai Branch Office, said the meeting aimed at receiving feedback on the draft document for analysing the proposed testing methodologies and performance benchmarks and implementing the safety standard. R. Premakumari, Additional Director, Directorate of Industrial Safety and Health, Chennai, highlighted the growing need for robust occupational safety standards in Tamil Nadu’s expanding industrial landscape.
