BJP working president Nitin Nabin arrived in Puducherry on Saturday evening to a rousing reception accorded by the BJP workers at Gorimedu on Puducherry-Tindivanam highway bordering Tamil Nadu. 

The BJP leader is on a two-day visit to Puducherry for organisational works ahead of the 2026 Assembly polls in the Union Territory.

Following the reception, he was escorted by the party workers to the statues of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar and Subramania Bharathiyar for paying respects before attending party events. He then addressed a closed-door session for BJP Shakti Kendra representatives and a meeting of core committee members. Mr. Mandaviya and party’s Union Territory in-charge Nirmal Kumar Surana were present.

Mr. Nabin, who was on his first party engagement outside the national capital after assuming charge early this week, will address traders, professionals, party workers during his two-day stay in Puducherry. He will call on Lieutenant Governor K. Kailashnathan and Chief Minister and founder president of AINRC N. Rangasamy on Sunday before winding up his visit.
