Blue Energy Motors (BEM), a green truck manufacturer, introduced its electric heavy-duty truck equipped with battery swapping technology. The vehicle was unveiled by Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Devendra Fadnavis at the company’s 10,000 trucks per annum production facility at Chakan in Pune.

The CM also inaugurated India’s first electric corridor from Mumbai–Pune. This corridor is the first step in the plan to electrify all major national highway corridors over the next three years, the company said.

BEM had signed an MoU with the Maharashtra government to set up a new facility with a capacity of 30,000 trucks, backed by an investment of ₹3,500 crore.

The company said it had witnessed a strong market demand and was signing MoUs for over 10,000 Electric trucks.
