A bomb threat to the District Collectorate here kept the anti-sabotage teams of the Tiruchi City Police on their toes on Tuesday. Police sources said the threat was sent through e-mail that was received in the morning. The e-mail message in English claimed that a bomb would explode before 2.30 p.m.
Acting on information, the Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad swung into action and conducted thorough check on the Collectorate premises. However, no explosive substances were found inside with the threat turning out to be a hoax, the sources added.
The BDDS personnel also conducted checks at the office of the Tiruchi Corporation following the receipt of anonymous threat email. The team carried out checks at the office of the Municipal Administration Minister K.N. Nehru at Thillai Nagar.
