Bomb squad and police conduct extensive searches across the City Sessions Court and Bankshall area following a bomb threat alert, in Kolkata on Tuesday.

At least six courts in West Bengal, including two in Kolkata, were cleared out and checked on Tuesday (February 24, 2026) after bomb threats were reportedly received over email.
The emails had reportedly claimed that bombs were planted inside the six courts. Some places also received bomb threat phone calls from unverified and unidentified callers.
