After the success of Sanam Teri Kasam, Harshvardhan Rane is set to taste the second success of his career in the form of Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat. Released on Diwali on just 40 percent screens due to clash with Thamma, the Milap Milan Zaveri directorial has collected in the range of Rs. 8 crores to Rs. 9 crores on the opening day. The film has done well on the limited shows, and a better release could have taken it higher towards the Rs. 12 crore mark on the same day.
The film has opened well for multiple reasons – the love for Harshvardhan Rane in the world of Sanam Teri Kasam, the hit music and the strategically planned clash with a non-event film like Thamma. Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat is made on a very limited budget of Rs. 25 crores, exclusive of print and publicity, and should be a sure shot money spinner for the makers.
If everything goes well, Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat will reach the break-even point in just the extended weekend due to the smartly planned production, and release. The film will be looking to collect over Rs. 40 crores in the weekend (Tuesday to Sunday), which will ensure a HIT tag.
Harshvardhan Rane has found a liking in the audiences now, and he needs to build with right choices in the coming months to hit the bullseye.
