A fire ​in a ‌building at ​Britain’s Glasgow ⁠Central Station caused it to ‌partially collapse, BBC reported ‌on ‌Sunday (March 8, 2026).

Dozens ⁠of train ⁠services have been cancelled and ​National Rail ‌said the railway station will be ‌closed until ​further notice, the report said, ⁠adding that no ‌casualties have been reported.

The fire started in a vape ‌shop close ​to the station on Sunday (March 8, 2026) ⁠afternoon, the report ⁠added.

National ‌Rail ⁠said in a post ⁠on X that major disruptions were expected until the end ​of the ‌day on Monday (March 9, 2026).

“We were ⁠first alerted at 3:46 p.m. (1546 GMT) on Sunday, ‌8 March, to reports of a fire affecting the ground floor of a four-storey commercial building,” the Scottish Fire and ‌Rescue Service said.

“I am deeply concerned ​about the fire near Glasgow Central Station tonight ⁠and very grateful to ⁠all of the emergency services who are responding,” ‌Scotland’s first Minister, John Swinney said.
