Carlos PenaVega Compares Stillborn Daughter to Charlie Kirk

Carlos PenaVega and his wife, Alexa PenaVega, have learned to accept the stillbirth of their daughter Indy through prayer.

“I think what’s been amazing is that … our Indy and then even recently [with] Charlie Kirk, like these guys, their lives have been so much more impactful after [death],” Carlos, 36, said on the Wednesday, March 4, episode of “The Upload” podcast. “I look at my life, and … I want to make sure whatever happens to me, when I do go, it’d be awesome if my life is as impactful if not more afterward.”

He continued, “[I want to be known for being] consistent in my walk and people see that, and I was intentional with all this stuff. If not, then what am I living for?”

Kirk, a conservative political commentator, was shot and killed in September 2025 when he was 31. Charlie is survived by his two children and wife Erika Kirk (née Frantzve), who has since honored his legacy by taking over his Turning Point USA organization and spreading his beliefs.

“Before I was pregnant with Indy, I was very quiet [and] I would tiptoe around Carlos,” the Spy Kids star told “Upload” host Brooke Taylor. “I felt, like, this is me being a good wife, honoring him [and thinking], ‘Whatever he says goes.’ I ended up finding out [that] this tiptoeing was total fear of him, and there was no reason to fear him.”

According to Alexa, “something changed within” her after suffering a stillbirth.
