The Central Crime Branch (CCB) registered 661 cases in 2025 and completed investigations in 410 previously pending cases.
During the period, 601 accused were arrested, including 16 cyber offenders nabbed from other States through sustained inter-state operations. In several significant cases, court trials were concluded and convictions were secured against 100 accused.
A senior police officer said, “We also prioritised the execution of non-bailable warrants issued against offenders who are on the run. As many as 747 warrants were executed by special teams formed to trace and arrest the accused.”
The CCB received 6,175 public petitions during the year and acted on 5,474 of them. In connection with criminal cases, properties worth approximately ₹886.53 crore were identified and cases registered. Immovable assets valued at about ₹459.74 crore were legally recovered and handed back to victims.
The cyber crime police stations functioning under the CCB, under the supervision of Joint Commissioners of Police of the east, west, south and north zones, reported significant results in 2025.
A total of 177 accused were arrested in cyber crime-related cases. Police traced digital links and financial trails of cyber fraudsters, leading to the freezing of bank accounts.
An amount of ₹34.74 crore was recovered and credited back to the bank accounts of 1,389 victims, officials said.
