State BJP president N. Ramchander Rao accused Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy of spreading “misinformation” on the Viksit Bharat Guarantee for Rozgar-Ajeevika Mission (Gramin) (VB-G RAM G) Act, 2025, and alleged that the Congress was deliberately misleading people by opposing the proposed legislation.
Addressing the media at the State party office on Saturday, Mr. Rao alleged that the Congress is running a malicious campaign against the VB-G RAM G Act as it was apprehensive about the growing public support for the BJP ahead of the forthcoming municipal elections.
Claiming that the people of Telangana had experienced what he termed as “anti-people governance” under both the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) and the Congress, Mr. Rao alleged that the two parties were now working in tandem to spread false propaganda against the BJP.
The BJP State president also questioned whether Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy was unaware that the Union government was supplying 5 kg of free rice through the public distribution system. He alleged that the State government was attempting to take credit for the scheme by distributing fine rice in bags that did not carry the Prime Minister’s photograph.
Mr. Rao demanded that the Prime Minister’s photograph be made mandatory on all ration bags and receipts, warning that the BJP would launch protests if the Congress government failed to do so.
Earlier in the day, Mr. Rao visited the Shiva temple on the Osmania University (OU) campus and offered special prayers on the occasion of ‘Somnath Swabhiman Parv’, which is being observed across the country. He said the observance was intended to commemorate the sacrifices of those who laid down their lives to protect the Somnath Temple, and added that their legacy would continue to inspire future generations.
