A children’s park is getting ready on the premises of the office of the Coimbatore City Police Commissioner, making the campus a child-friendly one. Located on the right side of the entrance, the park will become an area where children of the public visiting the office complex for various purposes can spend time during the waiting period.

Installation of various outdoor play equipment such as swings, slides, see-saw, merry-go-round and spring riders is currently underway at the park, an initiative by City Police Commissioner A. Saravana Sundar. Senior officials said that the works will be completed soon.

Majority of the public coming to the campus are to visit offices of the Commissioner, Deputy Commissioners, the cybercrime police station, the city crime branch, the economic offences wing and the foreigners section. Children of people visiting these offices and other units can make use of the park.

Adjacent to the children’s park is a covered open-air waiting area with benches, Wi-Fi connectivity, standing tables with power sockets for charging personal gadgets. The waiting area is attached to a mini library where books, periodicals and newspapers are available for reading. Cafeteria and ATM are among other amenities for the public on the campus.
