Coimbatore Corporation speeds up civic works ahead of election restrictions


With the Model Code of Conduct expected to come into force once elections are announced by the Election Commission of India, the Coimbatore Corporation has inaugurated projects worth about ₹43.1 crore and launched works valued at about ₹48.46 crore within a month.

A major share of the investment has gone into infrastructure and urban utilities, totaling around ₹28.66 crore. This includes cement concrete road reconstruction, other road improvement works, sewerage pipeline replacements, median street lighting, water storage infrastructure, and administrative facilities such as zonal and ward offices.
