Cold wave alert in five Telangana districts on November 18

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a cold wave alert in five Telangana districts for Tuesday, November 18.

According to IMDs latest bulletin, cold wave conditions are very likely to prevail at isolated pockets in Adilabad, Kumaram Bheem Asifabad, Nirmal, Sangareddy and Medak districts.

Additionally, Hyderabad and its surrounding areas for the next 24 hours will see mist or hazy conditions during mornings and nights.

“The minimum temperatures are likely to be below normal by 2°C to 3°C during the next couple of days. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be around 29°C and 14°C respectively,” the bulletin said.

14 locations record below 10°C

Meanwhile data from the Telangana Development Planning Society (TGDPS) showed a sharp drop in temperatures between the mornings of November 16 and 17, with 14 locations recording minimum temperatures below 10°C.

Sirpur in Kumaram Bheem Asifabad reported the lowest temperature at 7°C followed by 7.1°C in Kohir (Sangareddy), 7.7°C in Sonala (Adilabad), 8.1°C in Bantwaram (Vikarabad), 8.2°C in Ibrahimpatnam (Rangareddy), 8.4°C in Rudrangi (Rajanna Sircilla), 8.5°C in Bibipet (Kamareddy), 8.6°C in Rayapole (Siddipet), 8.9°C in Makloor (Nizamabad), 9°C in Bheemaram (Jagtial), 9.3°C in Havelighanpur (Medak), 9.4°C in Kuntala (Nirmal), 9.9°C in Balanagar (Mahabubnagar) and 10°C in Kothapalle (Narayanpet).

The remaining 19 districts recorded temperatures between 10°C and 13°C. Muduchinthalapally in Medchal Malkajgiri recorded 10.5°C and Maredpally in Hyderabad recorded 11.2°C.
