The Federation of Associations of Telangana Higher Institutions (FATHI) has decided to indefinitely close all the colleges from November 3, 2025 as the government had failed to release the promised fee reimbursement dues.
At its emergency core committee meeting on Sunday, it decided to serve a formal notice on the State government on October 22, followed by a meeting with the accredited colleges association on October 24 and consultations with student unions on October 25.
A general body meeting is scheduled for October 26, and all-party consultations are planned by November 1 to garner wider support for the movement, said K. Ramdass, a FATHI representative.
He said the FATHI committee urged the government to release funds to all uncovered colleges without delay, immediate clearance of dues to minority colleges, and release all pending RTF (Reimbursement of Tuition Fee) amounts by April 1, 2026. He said the government should also disburse the assured ₹900 crore by November 1, 2025. Earlier, the FATHI met Congress leader K Keshav Rao and impressed upon him to take up the issue with the government.
