
The Communist Party of India submits a memorandum to District Collector A. Kulothungan

The Communist Party of India (CPI) in Puducherry has requested the District Administration to construct tenements in around 2. 5 acres of government land available at Murugesan Nagar to accommodate marginalised sections of people residing in Thattanchavady area.
In a memorandum to District Collector A. Kulothungan, the party said around 5000 families belonging to deprived sections of the society are living in Pudupettai, Vinoba Nagar, Saint Paul Pet, Chinnayan Pet, and Poiyakulam in Thattanchavady without proper housing.
“The government has, under its possession, around 2. 5 acres of land in Murugesan Nagar. The land could be utilised for construction of tenements or distribute the land among the families for construction of house. The residents have been waiting for proper housing facility for a long time,” the party said.
