Days of Our Lives early weekly spoilers for January 5th through the 9th expose Chanel Dupree (Raven Bowens) snapping and Leo Stark (Greg Rikaart) being stunned by something.
As we always do on early edition day. We start with what’s coming the rest of this week and then we dive into what’s ahead next week.
Days of Our Lives Spoilers:
On Wednesday, December 31st, we’ve got DA Belle Black (Martha Madison) cutting a deal with Melinda Trask (Tina Huang). This could be about Sophia Choi (Rachel Boyd)’s case since she was representing her. Then again, they have to deal with this Rachel Black (Alice Halsey) issue. So, Belle may ask Melinda to just consult and to handle the plea deal. I don’t know if that’s what it will be since Brady Black (Eric Martsolf) absolutely hates Melinda.
Rachel and Sophia get New Year’s Eve visitors over at Bayview. We’ll see who’s going to pop into the mental ward to see them. Maybe Tate Black (Leo Howard), or maybe Brady and Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall). I wonder if Sophia is going to get to see her lawyer pal Melinda or her mother, Amy. Maybe Aaron Greene (Louis Tomeo) stops by to check on his baby mama, Sophia.
The DiMera Family Decision: Life Support for Peter
Meanwhile, Kristen DiMera (Stacy Haiduk) has a big decision to make. It could be about her comatose brother Peter Blake (Jason Brooks) or something to do with the Rachel crisis. The family, however, has to decide soon whether to keep Peter on life support or pull the plug and let him slip away.
Tony DiMera (Thaao Penghlis), EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel), and Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn) are discussing the options, but EJ says they need to vote as a family and tell University Hospital to pull the plug on Peter’s ventilator. EJ wants him dead because he thinks Peter might try and hurt them again. And of course, their kids might be at risk. So, Tony and Chad may agree, but Kristen may disagree with her other brothers.
Chad’s Awkward Hospital Encounter with Cat
Chad and Cat Greene (AnnaLynne McCord) run into each other, and Cat stuff goes flying everywhere at the hospital. Things get awkward. The problem is being near Cat Greene could cost Chad his kids, and he was just reunited with Thomas DiMera (Christopher Cary) and Charlotte DiMera (Olivia & Oakley Rondou).
He cannot let Jennifer Horton (Cady McClain) or Thomas see him even chatting with Cat. The last time Jennifer and Thomas saw Chad being friendly to Cat, remember his son Thomas ran into traffic and was injured, and then the custody suit happened.
New Year’s 2026: Leo’s Wedding and Gwen’s Revenge Plot on Days of Our Lives
Thursday, January 1st is New Year’s and the very first episode of the year. We’re kicking off 2026 with Marlena helping Leo. Marlena already agreed to officiate his wedding, so maybe Leo is looking for some last-minute advice before saying “I do” to Javi Hernandez (Al Calderon). He might need advice on his vows. Leo and Javi wedding preparations are in the very final stages, and it kicks off by the end of the week.
The Hernandez family is busy doing final preparations. Gabi Hernandez (Cherie Jimenez) designed a ring for the occasion and also a dress for somebody else. We’ve got Gabi and Gwen Rizczech (Emily O’Brien) continuing to bond on Thursday. Gabi may drop by with Gwen’s custom dress for the wedding. It was a Gabi Chic original that she paid a boatload of money for.
Is Stefan Really Dead on DOOL?
I wonder if they’re going to talk about Stefan DiMera (Brandon Barash)’s alleged death that Vivian Alamain (Louise Sorel) claims has taken place. I’m sorry, but sending a picture of a headstone is not proof. Gwen scored a last-minute invite to Leo’s wedding, and now she has the perfect dress and she’s plotting about Dimitri von Leuschner (Peter Porte) as well. Gwen is bringing her husband back to rock Leo’s boat.
Meanwhile, Chanel Dupree (Raven Bowens) is unhappy with Johnny DiMera (Carson Boatman) because he wants to stay on at DiMera for the time being. He’s saying that they could use the money, and Chanel may also be frustrated because Johnny is stressed out about her pregnancy.
Friday Spoilers: Alex’s Proposal and Dimitri’s Return to Salem
On Friday, January 2nd, we’ve got Alex Kiriakis (Robert Scott Wilson) giving Stephanie Johnson (Abigail Klein) a belated Christmas gift. He says he forgot to give her one last gift. We know love is in the air. So, will Alex Kiriakis (Robert Scott Wilson) propose? We know they are going to be getting married sometime in 2026. Dimitri von Leuschner is back to Days of Our Lives on Friday. We’ve got Gwen bringing her cheating hubby back to Salem to stir the pot.
Now, it just happens to be on the same day as Javi and Leo’s wedding. Chad’s there, which of course Leo wanted since he is his best man. Marlena is officiating. Gabi, Arianna Horton (Marissa Reyes), and Rafe are also there, along with extras we don’t know who are acting as seat fillers. I do wonder if Dimitri is going to be Gwen’s plus one. We do know Dimitri is at the mansion soon with Leo at the DiMera mansion.
A Salem Wedding to Remember: Leo, Javi, and the Letter Mystery
Gwen is completely annoyed and frustrated sitting front row as her ex-bestie, cheating Leo, gets his dream wedding and his dream man when Gwen’s marriage was wrecked by Leo. Plus, Steve Johnson (Stephen Nichols) is surprised by Kayla Brady (Mary Beth Evans), and we’ll see what the OG sweethearts have in store in 2026 during the week of January 5th through the 9th.
I’m wondering if Leo and Javi are going to have a wedding crasher, or if we are going to get one of those very rare Salem weddings where there are no issues, no hostages, no drag queen secret husband reveals, and no literal bombshells. Like, wasn’t it Ben Weston (Robert Scott Wilson) and Ciara Brady (Victoria Konefal)’s wedding that got blown up?
I’m also interested to see if Gwen’s going to have Dimitri pop up at the nuptials or if she’s going to arrange for Leo to see Dimitri after they say “I do.” We know that Dimitri is going to see Leo. They are at the DiMera mansion, and Dimitri von Leuschner gives Leo Stark a big old kiss. He may be a married man by that time.
I do think Gwen wrote the breakup letter and Dimitri is probably still head over heels for Leo. That would be a big shocker for Leo because he moved on and fell in love with Javi because Dimitri dumped him. If Dimitri is not the one who wrote the “Dear Leo” letter, well, that’s drama right there and very soapy. I can’t wait to find out.
EJ and Cat’s New Year’s Connection on Days of Our Lives
EJ and Cat may share a New Year’s Eve kiss. We know that Cat kisses EJ soon. And while some of her interest in him is Cat doing the ISA and FBI case research, there is more to it. They have a legit connection. They do have good chemistry, and you can’t leave those dimples without a date for too long.
Kate Roberts (Lauren Koslow) wants to save Titan by any means necessary. And if that means working with Xander Cook (Paul Telfer), the guy who beat the starch out of her beloved son, Philip Kiriakis (John-Paul Lavoisier), she’s going to do it. Kate showed up and showed Xander the book that Bonnie wrote one rainy afternoon. This whole thing with thinking that smutty novels are going to save a business empire is just terrible writing anyway, but it is what we have.
Chanel and Johnny disagree on a few things, and this may put stress on their marriage and on her pregnancy. We’re going to find out more about EJ and Dr. Wilhelm Rolf (Richard Wharton)’s secret work down in the lab. We’re counting down the days until we find out who is in that big human-sized test tube. I’m leaning towards Lexie Carver (Renee Jones) at this point.
Dr. Rolf’s Secret Lab and Holly’s Return from Paris on DOOL
Owen Kent (Wes Ramsey) may amp up his efforts stalking Stephanie, but we’re also still waiting on the air date confirmation for Owen. The guy is looking to kill Alex and take Stephanie away. Holly Jonas (Ashley Puzemis) comes back to Salem from her holiday in Paris, and this may be when her unpleasant new attitude begins. She cops an attitude soon with both Tate and Ari.
