A 45-year-old Defence Security Corps (DSC) personnel was found dead inside INS Kalinga under Bheemunipatnam police limits near Visakhapatnam on Saturday. Police suspect that the death may have been a suicide.
The deceased has been identified as Baji Baba Sheikh, a native of Guntur district. According to preliminary reports, Sheikh had a gunshot wound below his chin. Investigators said the death could have resulted from a misfire or may be a case of suicide. The exact cause will be confirmed after a detailed probe.
Bheemunipatnam Inspector Tirumala Rao said a case has been registered and investigation is underway. The body has been sent for post-mortem examination.
