The Delhi High Court on Monday sought the response of the Chief Election Officer of the Delhi University Students’ Union (DUSU) based on a plea alleging EVM tampering in the recently held polls.
In his petition, the outgoing DUSU president from the Congress-backed NSUI, Ronak Khatri, alleged that blue ink marks were placed next to the names of the RSS-backed ABVP candidates “with the intention of influencing voters” and sought to have the September 18 polling quashed. The court has posted the next hearing for December 16.
Admission for 7,500 seats
Meanwhile, with 7,500 undergraduate seats still vacant after four rounds of admissions, the university said it will hold an “on-the-spot mop-up round” on Tuesday. The selected candidates will receive invites through e-mail.
