The last Monday of the auspicious ‘Karthika Masam’ attracted large number of devotees to Srisailam, the abode of Sri Bhramaramba Mallikarjuna Swamy temple, and other Lord Shiva temples in both Kurnool and Nandyal districts.
Lakhs of devotees offered prayers at Srisailam temple and had holy dip in the Krishna river at Patalaganga. Women lit and floated ‘Karthika Deepams’ in the river.
Srisailam temple management made elaborate arrangements for the devotees and ensured hassle-free darshan. Some rituals were cancelled to facilitate faster darshan to the devotees, while snacks were served in queue lines. Special arrangements were made in the north Mada Street and also at the Gangadhara Mandapam for the devotees to light Karthika Deepams. Annaprasadam and snacks were served at Annaprasadam Complex, while laddus were sold from 10 counters.
‘Pushkarini Harathi’ and ‘Lakshadeepotsavam’ lit up the temple town and devotees participated in the events with religious fervour.
